The PMISCC Volunteer Programme welcomes PMI certified and non-certified Project Management enthusiasts/professionals with practical experience in the area of Project Management to register for the following volunteer opportunities.

About the Volunteer Programme

The PMISCC Volunteer Programme promotes the sustainable development of Project Management in the Southern Caribbean by strengthening the capabilities of our members and developing the communities in which we serve. Our Programme is open to PMI certified and non-certified Project Management enthusiasts/persons with practical experience in the area of Project Management.

2-year cycle 2022-2023 (Approximately 2 to 5 hours weekly)

Summary of the Project (committee purpose)

The Project Monitor is responsible for monitoring the proper delivery of assigned  projects, guiding project team leaders and members on methods and tools, and generally maintain overview of the entire project management life cycle to ensure proper delivery of services and achievement of results.

Project Monitors will report issues and successes to the Volunteer Office and Vice President, Volunteers and Special Events.

Deliverables

The persons assigned to this position will be accountable for comparing the actual performance to the project goals set.

Project Monitors will also provide updates (written and/or verbal) to member groups of the Volunteer Programme.

Responsibilities and Duties

●        Guide and direct the assigned Project Team Leads and Team Members regarding initial setting up of the teams, planning of project, liaising with stakeholders, development, and completion of project documents and all other project activities as required

●        Provide assistance to team leaders and team members regarding any conflicts which may arise

●        Monitor the interactions between the project teams and the client, ensuring that the highest levels of professionalism are maintained, and commitments kept. Our clients are senior officers of Public and Private organisations and NGOs with whom we work to execute projects.

●        Monitor the progress and performance of the project teams throughout the Volunteer cycle

●        Provide status reports to the Volunteer Office and VP Volunteers and Special Events regarding project performance

●       Report to the Volunteer Office about Volunteers who missed 2 team meetings consecutively without reason or are not participating in team and project activities

●        Collaborate/ provide assistance to other Monitors as necessary

●        Contribute to monthly or quarterly networking/ knowledge sharing Volunteer sessions, to facilitate personal development/training for the Volunteers

Prerequisites and Experience

●        Knowledge of Project Management

●        A minimum of two years’ experience working on projects

●        Prior Volunteering experience with PMISCC will be an asset

●        Computer Skills

Summary of the Project (committee purpose)

The Project Team Leader is responsible for planning, executing, training, and promoting the activities that the assigned project undertakes.

The Project Team Leader is overall responsible for ensuring the success of the project.
Deliverables

The person assigned for this position will also be accountable for completing all the actual activities to successfully meet the project goals set.
Responsibilities and Duties

●        Guide and direct team members with regard to the completion of all project activities

●        Engage in participative and charismatic type leadership of the team, demonstrating inter alia- open channels of communication, collaboration, adherence to timelines and targets and structured decision making

●        Establish and maintain communication with the client ensuring that the highest levels of professionalism are maintained and commitments made are kept. Our clients are senior officers of Public and Private organisations and NGOs with whom we work to execute projects.

●        Oversee the preparation and submission to the Project Monitor of key project documents such as the Project Charter, Milestone Plan, Project Plan, Communication Plan and Closeout Report

●        Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture

●        Train and guide team members as necessary

●        Assign roles and responsibilities to team members regarding the completion of project activities

●        Monitor team performance and report on metrics/ conduct evaluation of team members-based guidelines and templates provided by the Volunteer Office

●        Motivate team members

●        Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts

●        Provide status reports to the Project Monitor regarding the team’s performance, project deliverables, and interaction with the client

●        Recognize high performance

●         Encourage creativity and manage risk-taking

●         Suggest and organize team-building activities

●        Contribute professionally to meetings with other Team Leads, Project Monitors, Volunteer Office, Vice President of Volunteers and Special Events as called

Summary of the Project (committee purpose)

The Project Team Member is responsible for contributing to overall project objectives, completing individual deliverables, and providing their support and knowledge while working with other Team members to meet the project goals.

The persons assigned for this position will also be responsible for planning the project, completing all the actual activities to meet the project goals set, and providing project documentation as required to support the project

Responsibilities and Duties

●        Executing all tasks assigned by the Project Team Leader diligently, on schedule, and to the highest standard.

●        Working in good faith with team members to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

●        Participating in meetings and voicing concerns as well as suggestions for improvement.

●        Answering or escalating concerns and queries from clients or other stakeholders. Our clients are senior officers of Public and Private organisations and NGOs with whom we work to execute projects.

●        Completing a range of administrative tasks.

●        Maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical behaviour while representing the PMI SCC.

●        Expanding your skills by attending workshops and training sessions.

●        Effectively managing your time by prioritizing urgent tasks.

●        Assisting the Project Team Leader as required.

Prerequisites and Experience

●        Knowledge of Project Management

●        A minimum of two years’ experience working on projects

●        Lesser experience in direct project management, but a demonstrated willingness to learn and implement project management, will also be considered

Summary of the Project (committee purpose)

The volunteer is responsible for contributing to raising brand awareness through the creation of marketing campaigns.

Deliverables

The person assigned for this position will also be responsible for marketing, sponsorship, professional development content, and posts.

Responsibilities and Duties

●       Contribute to producing effective and interesting communications - email, social media, print, and in-person - to chapter members including information about chapter services and events.

●       Conduct analysis to determine the effectiveness of each marketing campaign, and report key findings to stakeholders.

●       Collaborate with and support all Marketing, Sponsorship, and Professional Development in respect to all strategic planning and content development for improving communications to members and other relevant stakeholders.

●       Facilitate cross-functional communication among project stakeholders.

●       Perform competitive research to understand what’s happening in the market, and incorporate your findings into each campaign for better results. It includes sponsor development, business development communications, and content development for the chapter

●       Work alongside all Board Members to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.

●        Self-Starter & organized.

●        GSuite, Constant Contact, WordPress

The person assigned for this position must have strong writing, project management skills, and software/digital skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

NEWSLETTER

●        Provide support in the preparation of the newsletter for publication (by 12th monthly)

SOCIAL MEDIA

●        Build and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence on all four social media platforms: Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter & Facebook.

●        Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.

●        Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company

●        Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives to report on social media ROI.

●        Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target stakeholders.

CREATIVE CAMPAIGNS

●        Create, manage regular social promotions, competitions, quizzes, and campaigns and track their success.

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP BLOG / VLOG

●        Assist in developing content around opinions and insight into the things our members care about

INTERVIEWS

●        Conduct Research and identify people of interest in the industry

●        Developing Google Form Questionnaire, share links and get the responses

●        Share responses as valuable content to the Members via distribution channels

CONTENT CURATION

●        Rounding up content related to a theme, and ideally adding a relevant perspective to it (E.g.) Once per month:

○        Find the 10 best tweets in the industry

○        Share the 5 best posts

○        Hot topics
