September 2016 Tech Session: Why and How to Integrate Change Management to Achieve Greater Project Success

Presenter: Reshma Bissessar Get the Change tips to achieve greater success! Prosci’s Best Practices in Change Management-2016 Edition, reported that projects with a structured change management approach have a 6 times greater likelihood of achieving their objectives than projects without change management. Year after year, Prosci reports on the positive correlation between effective change management and project success. Yet many projects continue to be conceptualized and implemented without considering the change implications until it is too late, often resulting in delays or having to go back to the drawing board and in some instances, even abandoning the project altogether. This presentation will focus on the value of and an approach to the integration of change management with project management in order to increase our effectiveness as project managers. Reshma is an Organizational Consultant with a background in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development. She is a highly skilled trainer and facilitator and has worked with several local, regional and multinational organizations, in the areas of HR, Leadership and Team Development and Organizational Development and Change. She is a graduate of the Global Master of Arts Programme, Tufts University, Boston, MA. USA and an honours graduate of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in History and Spanish. She is also certified in the design and administration of Assessment Centers and has been trained in Psychometric Testing by the British Psychological society. Reshma’s consulting focus is on the management of strategic change, with particular emphasis on supporting senior executives and first line managers to lead and facilitate organizational change. She has worked extensively with project managers and project sponsors to manage the people side of change and is versed in a variety of change management methodologies. More recently, Reshma’s focus has been on Corporate Governance issues, particularly on the Board’s role in developing good corporate governance practices and the role of Directors as change agents. Reshma is certified as a Trainer in Corporate Governance Board Leadership by the World Bank/International Finance Corporation and the Global Corporate Governance Forum and has facilitated workshops on Corporate Governance, the Role of the Board and Strategic Leadership for Boards.
