“While having relevant technical project management skills is an important aspect of successful projects, having the interpersonal and leadership skills to work effectively with stakeholders is just as important, if not more so.” (PMBOK Guide 7th Edition, p.10)

This session aims to equip participants with an understanding of the processes of identifying and analysing project stakeholders, and an introduction to mapping tools and techniques for planning an appropriate and effective Stakeholder Engagement Strategy.

Participants will learn how to:

  •  Identify and assess project stakeholders (by interest, influence, level of support, etc.)
  • Categorize stakeholders and consider effective engagement strategies for each group
  • Apply tools such as a Stakeholder Assessment Matrix, Power-Interest/Support Maps and Hub and Spoke Diagram towards the development of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  • Navigate human behaviour, remote work and cross-cultural considerations on projects
  • Implement practical tips and strategies for managing stakeholder engagement
